Since its creation in October 2021, the platform has undergone numerous evolutions. Indeed, our priority is to continuously improve your user experience on our Open Data. As part of this continuous improvement, new features are regularly made available on the PRIM platform.
Lastly, three of them have been integrated into the portal. The first and second are related as they concern tracking your API consumptionand receiving alerts relating to your API quota consumption. The last major evolution, which you already know about since you're reading this article, consists in the creation of a "News" section on the PRIM platform.
Thanks to this article, let's discover together these new features and their added value for PRIM portal users.
Focus on news on the PRIM portal
As you've obviously noticed since you're on this page, PRIM is now offering you the chance to discover its news. Articles featuring the latest news from the portal will be posted regularly. You'll find the latest ones on the home page.
Previous publications will be available on the "News" page. This page can be accessed via the "All news" button on the home page, but also by clicking on the dedicated access points on the site.
These PRIM portal news articles may cover new features developedbut also the online release of a new dataset or API or even structural changes on the PRIM portal. So, to target the content that interests you you can refer to the themesavailable at the top of the "News" page. Note that the small number appended to a filter represents the number of articles available in the corresponding theme.
Personal API consumption tracking
The first feature recently implemented on PRIM relates to tracking your personal API consumption. Note that it is imperative to be logged in to your account on the PRIM platformin order to access it. Once logged in, the drop-down menu at the top right in the "header" offers a "My API consumption" entry allowing you to be redirected to a page dedicated to this new feature.
On the "My API consumption" page your day quota or monthly quota API consumptions are modeled by gauges.Your API consumptions are expressed in"consumed requests/available requests"but alsoin percentages.
As you request an API, the gauge dedicated to it fills. When you have consumed all your quotarelative to an API,the gauge attached to it colors red. You then have to wait for the end of the time slot (daily or monthly) to be able to request the API again.
Receiving alerts relating to personal consumption of API quotas
The second feature recently implemented consists of receiving alerts relating to your personal consumption of API quotas. Thus, to access this service there is also a requirement to log in to your personal account on the PRIM platform.
Once logged in and on the "My API consumption" page, you will see to the left of the "my monitoring" tab (allowing you as described above to supervise your consumption of the various APIs), a "My alerts" tabcomprising the functionality for receiving alerts. To set it up, simply follow the following steps:
- Activate the "I wish to be notified by Île-de-France Mobilités when the consumption threshold of my choice is reached" button.
- Indicate the e-mail address to which you wish to receive alerts.
- Select the consumption threshold from which you wish to be notified. Otherwise, by default this threshold will be set at 80%.
- Save your choices.
Then you will receive at the e-mail address you have entered,an e-mail alert from Île-de-France Mobilités as soon as you have reached the consumption threshold you have chosen on one of the APIs. You'll then just have to pay attention to your consumption of the API in question, because once the quota has been reached, you'll have to wait until the end of the time slot (daily or monthly) to be able to request the API again.
Thank you for reading this entire article! We now invite you to go and discover these new features of the PRIM platform for yourself.
