What is the "Slack" tool?
This summer, more precisely onJuly 13, 2022, the platform launched its "Slack"instant chat forum. This is a collaborative communication platform, allowing you to talk (essentially via messages) with each of the subscribers to this exchange space.
If some of you are familiar with the "Discord" tool, "Slack" works in broadly the same way. Indeed,"Slack" is based on channels. Each channel corresponds to a public discussion with all "Slack" users. So a message posted on a channel is visible to all its users. On the "PRIM community" Slack, each channel is dedicated to a discussion topic to improve the readability of exchanges. The "Slack" of the "PRIM community" is structured around these different channels:
- API Île-de-France Mobilités Route Planners
- Real-time API
- GTFS data
- Static data
- PRIM information
- New datasets
- New datavisualisations
- Data Reuses
- User support
In addition, on "Slack" it's also possible to send direct messages to one or more specific users. In this case, these are private discussions. This functionality is open and sometimes used between the "Slack" administrator, namely the "contact-prim"account, and portal users. So, feel free, if necessary, to send a private message to this account.

The objectives of setting up this "Slack"
The objectives of setting up this "Slack" are multiple.
Firstly, to provide PRIM portal users with local user support endowed with a high level of responsiveness.
Then, this "PRIM community" "Slack" makes it possible to inform portal users when new datasets or datavisualizations are put online.

In addition, information relating to structural changes to the PRIM platform (API Manager migration, for example) or about temporary anomalies affecting data (missing or erroneous data on GTFS, for example), is also disseminated via this forum.
In short, the main objective of this discussion forum is to federate a community of producers and reuses of the data disseminated on the PRIM platform.
